METS 2011: FUSION charts a new course in innovation

The inaugural Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) is the world’s largest trade exhibition of marine equipment. Based in Amsterdam, businesses travel from around the globe to participate and showcase the very best technologies and innovations in marine equipment.
The FUSION 700 Series Marine Entertainment System was on display at the tradeshow and nominated for the Prestigious DAME Design Award. Introducing advanced NMEA 2000, Ethernet and FUSION-Link connectivity the 700 Series represents the most innovative and advanced marine stereo available in the market. With enhanced Multi-Zone Technology and wireless iPad control, the 700 is like nothing ever seen and worthy of being nominated as a finalist for the prestigious design award.
Response to the release of the 700 Series was outstanding, with many requests for demonstrations given at the stand by FUSION’s CEO Chris Baird. Chris described the 700 Series as “the culmination of over 10 years experience designing marine entertainment, a clear vision for the future has been charted by FUSION’s owner Sir Peter Maire, and with over 150 years of combined design experience you can expect marine entertainment to become more integrated and innovative with FUSION at the helm”
FUSION took the opportunity at METS to preview the new Saloon Series Entertainment range, which incorporates purpose built high quality speakers, designed and engineered for the internal cabin environment. Accompanying the Saloon Series speakers is a high powered Class-D powered purpose built active subwoofer, when combined with the Saloon speakers creates acoustic harmony and striking bass. FUSION is also working on an HDMI, Surround Sound System - More details to come..
Overall attendance broke records, up 2% on 2010. The atmosphere of the tradeshow was very positive with many coming to the realisation that to succeed in this tough economic climate the focus must be on quality and innovation – both of which FUSION has mastered.
Look out for new 2012 Marine Entertainment range set to be released from late January.
